Manchester United suffered a shock 2-1 loss at the hands of Huddersfield Town on Saturday afternoon. The Red Devils were tipped to seal a relatively easy win over David Wagner’s side, but the Terriers took advantage of individual errors to take a 2-0 lead in the first-half.
Jose Mourinho’s men tried their best to salvage a point in the second period, but they could find only a late consolation from Marcus Rashford. The defeat is the club’s first of the 2017/18 campaign, and the supporters were not particularly pleased with the performance of Victor Lindelof.
Lindelof came on as a substitute for the injured Phil Jones midway through the first-half, and his presence on the field coincided with Huddersfield’s uplift in momentum.
Juan Mata’s misjudged interception helped Mooy scored the opener after a Tom Ince effort was saved. However, the biggest blunder was made by the Swede after he missed a clear header to allow the Terriers a clear shot at goal.
Here are the best reactions over Lindelof’s showing on Twitter…
Remember when Lindelof was a better signing than Kolašinac, Bernardo Silva & Ederson because his announcement got more retweets?

That was maybe the worst half of football from Mourinho's United. Feeble and fazed. Martial and Lindelof execrable. #mufc

Namanja Vidic turned 36 today and he'd still be more useful than Lindelof. pic.twitter.com/zNNnmbEi81

Lindelof had only played a minute of Premier League football prior to the Huddersfield game, and he has done himself no favours with his latest performance. Eric Bailly is expected to make his injury comeback prior to the Tottenham Hotspur clash next weekend, and Lindelof may be restricted to the Cup competitions in the near future.
