Manchester United have been given good news in their pursuit of Real Madrid forward Gareth Bale, with the Welsh international expecting to be sold this summer, reports Mundo Deportivo.
Bale joined Real from Tottenham Hotspur in 2013 and has gone on to make 172 appearances in all competitions. He’s won three Champions Leagues, one La Liga title and a Copa Del Rey trophy.
The 28-year-old, who has a release clause of £443m, is contracted with Real until 2022 but Spanish reports believe he and Karim Benzema will be leaving ahead of the 2018/19 campaign.
Benzema is being linked with the Chinese Super League and Ligue 1, having struggled to nail down a regular starting place at Real this season due to his inconsistent form.
According to The Sun, Bale apparently wants to return to the Premier League as Real’s attempts to sign Paris Saint-Germain forward Neymar could push him out of the side.
Manchester United tried to sign Bale back when he was a Tottenham player, and they’ve been linked with the forward ever since. He’s been impressive this season, scoring and creating seven goals in 10 La Liga starts, but his injury woes might be an issue.
£53m man already spent two months sidelined, which has been a common theme of his time at the Santiago Bernabeu.
