Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has dropped a positive update on the fitness front ahead of Monday’s Premier League showdown against Tottenham Hotspur at Old Trafford.
United were largely dismal with their performance at Brighton & Hove Albion as they suffered a shock 3-2 defeat but Mourinho has now been boosted with the availability of three key first-team regulars.
Speaking ahead of the Spurs game, Mourinho confirmed the trio of Alexis Sanchez, Nemanja Matic and Antonio Valencia have returned to training, thereby putting themselves into contention for the Spurs game.
Jose on @NemanjaMatic, @Anto_V25 and @Alexis_Sanchez: "There are decisions to be made, but they are training with the team. Dalot is also with the team this week, so in terms of the medical department, they are almost free." #MUFC pic.twitter.com/BdQRMGKvBe

Among the trio, Sanchez was sorely missed during the recent defeat at Brighton & Hove Albion where United barely created any chances during the course of the game.
The Chilean should return straight into the lineup for the Spurs encounter and it will be interesting to see whether Matic and Valencia are also offered starts in a match which may involve high intensity.
Matic would most certainly replace Andreas Pereira in the holding midfield position whilst Valencia may take up his right back position from Ashley Young as he offers more assurance with his defending.
Meanwhile, Mourinho also confirmed that summer signing Diogo Dalot has joined the group for first-team training after recovering from a knee surgery but his debut could be delayed until mid-September.
