Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho confirmed to TalkSPORT that Paul Pogba had warranted a starting spot for the FA Cup semi-final with Tottenham Hotspur after starring against Bournemouth in midweek.
The Portuguese tactician was hugely critical about Pogba’s showing against West Bromwich Albion last weekend and hinted that the midfielder could find himself out of contention for the Cup game.
However, Pogba managed to erase those memories with a top performance at the Vitality Stadium which included a sublime assist for Romelu Lukaku’s first-time strike in the second half.
Following the game, Mourinho had a brief interview with TalkSPORT where he is said to have confirmed Pogba’s inclusion in the starting lineup for the Wembley showpiece.

Pogba has come through terrific responses on the back of lean results, and the biggest statement of the lot came in the Manchester derby where he spearheaded United’s comeback with a sublime brace.
The France international has now shone in two of the previous three games in the Premier League but he now needs to find the consistency over a longer stretch of matches.
