Good news as Man United receive derby day injury boost against Man City

Jose Mourinho

Manchester United have been handed a significant boost ahead of the Manchester derby with Sergio Aguero apparently a doubt to feature for Manchester City. The Argentine has been the go-to man upfront for the table-toppers this term, but he faces a race against time to make the weekend game.

In a report covered by M.E.N, City boss Pep Guardiola refused to confirm whether Aguero would return to action after a hamstring problem, and this could be considered as positive news for United, who will be desperate to avoid a defeat against their arch-rivals.

Aguero has previously tormented United with eight goals in just 11 outings, and his absence would provide United with a stronger belief that they can restrict City from taking maximum points at the Etihad Stadium, which would assure them of the Premier League crown.

City are likely to come up with a strong response after a 3-0 thumping in the Champions League round of 16 first-leg, but rest assured, United fans will want Jose Mourinho to fire his side up in order to avoid the unwanted prospect of City celebrating the title with a derby triumph.
