Good news as Man Utd receive major injury boost ahead of Brighton game

Manchester United have received positive news with regards to summer signing Diogo Dalot, who is expected to training at some point of time during the ongoing week.

The Portuguese teenager became the club’s first recruit earlier in the summer for a £19m but he has since been on the sidelines following a knee surgery which he had undergone in May.

As a result, Jose Mourinho has found himself short of options in the right-back spot with Antonio Valencia also struggling with his fitness but the Portuguese could make his competitive debut in the coming weeks.

According to Metro, the 19-year-old is likely to get the opportunity to train with his United teammates during the current weeks after being on an individual training programme since the club’s pre-season tour.

Nonetheless, Dalot may not necessarily make his debut before the first international break of the season with Mourinho likely to ease the teenager into competitive action after his long-term injury.

Of late, there has been the speculation of Matteo Darmian heading through the exit door this month and this may leave Mourinho with just Ashley Young to depend upon for the right-back role until one of Valencia or Dalot return to the fray.
