Ander Herrera believes that Chelsea adopted a very defensive minded tactics in order to claim a victory over Manchester United at Stamford Bridge on Sunday.
Manchester United suffered their second Premier League defeat of the season after they went down 1-0 against defending champions Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Sunday evening.
The match was a contest with very few chances and following Alvaro Morata’s goal in the 55th minute, Chelsea managed to nullify any threat posed by Manchester United without much trouble.
While many have hailed Chelsea’s professional display during the encounter, Manchester United midfielder Ander Herrera has questioned the Blues for effectively ‘parking the bus’ after finding the back of the net.
Herrera said, “We all thought the team who scored first was going to win the game. Unluckily they did it; they score the first goal and then put five in the back plus four midfielders so it was difficult.
“The first ten to 15 minutes they played better in the second half but we played better in the first half. We tried to react after the goal but they put five in the back plus four in midfield. It was difficult even though we created a couple of chances but we couldn’t do it.”
