Manchester United fans were elated with the showing of Nemanja Matic, who scored a stupendous winner against Crystal Palace on Monday night. The Serbia international has built the reputation of scoring long-range goals, and he came with another stunning effort from outside the box – to hand United a 3-2 comeback win at Selhurst Park.
Matic was at times out-powered by the Palace attack front during the first-half of the game, but he managed to gain control after the break with United chasing the game 2-0. Chris Smalling and Romelu Lukaku popped up with crucial goals for United prior to Matic’s stunning leveller, and the victory ensured that United attained their second successive victory from behind – following the Chelsea triumph last month.

The win ensured that United returned to second in the Premier League standings ahead of Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool, and Jose Mourinho will want another strong performance versus the Reds in order to cement the runner-up position for the campaign.
The previous outing at Anfield saw the manager adopt an ultra defensive display, but we should see the team play with much freedom at Old Trafford, though the defence needs to be wary of Liverpool’s front trio of Salah, Firmino and Mane.
