How Man United could line up with £100million playmaker

Coutinho Liverpool

Liverpool fans should be devastated if Philippe Coutinho leaves Barcelona to join Manchester United.

Last season, the Brazilian international featured in 19 games in all competitions for the Merseysiders and directly contributed in 20 goals (12 goals and 8 assists). However, in January 2018, he opted to leave for the Spanish champions.

Now, at the Nou Camp, the Samba star is in a complex situation under Valverde and as per reports (Caught Offside), Manchester United are interested in signing the £100million playmaker.

Transfer: Terms offered – £90million star could move to Man Utd next summer

The question is, how will United utilize Coutinho, if he does end up moving to Old Trafford?

The 26-year-old likes to cut in from the left hand side, so, he has mostly played on the left side of the midfield and the attack. Moreover, he can also play effectively in the central attacking midfield role.

At the moment, United’s most gifted midfielder is record signing, Paul Pogba, who is a world class star and currently in top form under Solskjaer.

On the other hand, Man Utd’s first choice defensive midfielder is Matic. Their first choice left winger is Martial and second choice is Sanchez, who has been out of form for the Red Devils since moving to Old Trafford from Arsenal but under Solskjaer, he has so far provided 2 assists in 2 games.

So, in my view, if Coutinho does leave Barca to join United, then he could be utilized in the central attacking midfield role. The South American star is a brilliant passer and dribbler of the ball, moreover, he is a dead ball specialist and has the ability to score classic long-range goals as well.

  1. If Man U signed Coutinho, playing 4-3-3 would be the best. Thats what I think
    Example:
    De Gea
    Dalot Bailly Lindelof Shaw
    Matic/Herrera {Presently I’d choose Herrera}
    Pogba Coutinho
    Lingard Martial
    Rashford
