How Manchester United should line up under Solksjaer

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer

Manchester United have just won one of their five games in all competitions this month and next up, they will collide against Cardiff under new interim boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

The legendary striker did well with Norwegian club Molde but managing the Red Devils would be a whole new level.

Under Mourinho, United struggled badly this season and it is down to Solskjaer to fix things and if he does amazingly well, then it will not come as any surprise to see him become the permanent boss at the end of the campaign.

As far as the team news is concerned, the 45-year-old boss should make key changes in the team that he has inherited from Mourinho. In recent weeks, Mou opted to bench World Cup winner and record signing Pogba. Solskjaer should immediately bring the Les Bleus midfielder back to the starting XI.

Nemanja Matic is the side’s main defensive midfielder but he has been average this season and the club should sign a replacement. Still, for now, he will likely remain in the starting XI.

Summer signing Fred could not get a fair chance to prove his worth under Mourinho and Solskjaer should hand him that opportunity.

The new boss likes to play attacking football and this could help someone like Lukaku, who lacked support up front under Jose. Martial has been in top form and he should regularly start with either Lingard or Rashford in the wide attacking positions.

I have not forgot about Alexis Sanchez as yet but the perhaps United should forget about the Chilean and sell him in the winter transfer window.

In the backline, Young and Shaw should start in the fullback positions and Bailly and Lindelof should start in the central defense. De Gea has to start in the goal but he has to improve a lot as well.

Here is how Man United should line up under Solskjaer:
