Zlatan Ibrahimovic could make his Manchester United comeback before the turn of the year having begun training with his fellow teammates, The Sun reports. The former Sweden international notched 28 goals in his maiden season with United.
According to The Sun, the 36-year-old has attained up to 90 percent of his physical strength following his decision to join practice with the United squad. The Swede has been taking drills in passing and shooting over the past week, but he has avoided any physical contact or form of tackling.
However, the club’s medical staff are looking to slowly integrate the player into the full regime in the next few weeks, and the Swede could make his comeback before the start of 2018.
United have a congested set of fixtures during the festive period in December, and Ibrahimovic’s comeback would undoubtedly provide a huge boost in the forward department.
Despite Ibrahimovic’s absence, Manchester United have flourished in the early part of the campaign with no defeats – barring the 2-1 European Super Cup loss to Real Madrid in August.
Jose Mourinho’s men clinched a 1-0 victory over Benfica in the Champions League on Wednesday night, and this has taken them to nine points in Group A, and virtually on the brink of reaching the knockout phase.
