Ian Wright believes Jose Mourinho would fancy offloading Anthony Martial ahead of Marcus Rashford, if he had to part ways with one of the pair in the summer.
Martial, 22, has had a strong season with United, contributing 11 goals and a further 10 assists, but he is still said to be unsettled due to the arrival of Alexis Sanchez.
Since pursuing Sanchez in January, Mourinho has been more reliant on the Chilean on the left side of the attack, and this has witnessed Martial earn just two starts in the Premier League.
A recent report from RMC has claimed that Martial wants a fresh challenge away from Old Trafford during the summer, and Wright sees this as a realistic possibility.
He told Sky Sports: “He has almost fallen off a cliff with Mourinho and if he had to let one of them [Martial or Rashford] go it would probably be Martial.”
Obviously there has been a growing feeling of unrest between Martial and Mourinho, and the Portuguese does not seem to trust his attacker after failing to come off the bench in the recent Manchester derby.
Martial has just 14 months left on his current contract with the club, and there is every opportunity that United may seek to cash in on his services, should there be no progress over an extension.
