Transfer: Man Utd very close to agreeing £25.6million fee for signing – Report

Highly regarded as one of the biggest talents in England, it would be a great feeling for Man Utd to swoop in and sign an ex-Arsenal academy star. The Dane is showing all the signs of having an extremely promising career ahead of him.

According to Adrian Kajumba and Dharmesh Sheth of Sky Sports, Chido Obi-Martin is expected to have his medical with Man Utd in the coming days after rejecting much better monetary offers from clubs in Germany to pursue his dream.

The player’s desire to come to Old Trafford bodes well for the club. Obi-Martin is determined to shine in a Red Devils jersey. He would be looking up to the likes of Alejandro Garnacho, Amad Diallo and Kobbie Mainoo who have worked their way into the first team.

The Danish teenager could also seek help from Rasmus Hojlund as he looks to settle into the club. The striker and Christian Eriksen (if he stays at the club) would help the youngster immensely through his first months at the club.

Where Chido Obi-Martin’s career goes from here will come down totally to his desire to develop. The youngster is blessed with something that is difficult to coach – a natural instinct to find the back of the net.

It might take some time before we see Erik ten Hag use the youngster in the first-team. The cup games are a slim possibility but Man Utd will be careful not to throw the teenager into the deep end before he learns how to swim. Let’s hope Obi-Martin lives up to the initial promise and becomes a star in the future.
