Injury update: Manchester United trio miss training ahead of Real Madrid friendly

Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho may have further injury concerns to deal with Eric Bailly, Ander Herrera and Chris Smalling having missed training in the lead-up to the Real Madrid friendly.

Both Eric Bailly and Ander Herrera featured in the recent 4-1 friendly defeat at the hands of Liverpool whilst Smalling was not in the squad altogether after pulling up in the warm up to the encounter.

According to ESPN FC, the trio missed the training session in the lead-up to the Los Blancos game and Mourinho may not risk them with just 10 days left to the start of the new Premier League campaign.

Nevertheless, there has a positive update on Luke Shaw, who has managed to take part in the training session at Barry University after successfully recovering from a knock picked up against AC Milan.

United’s pre-season has been shrouded by multiple injury concerns and so far, Antonio Valencia, Nemanja Matic, Marcos Rojo are on the sidelines whilst Diogo Dalot is still training individually as he recovers from a knee operation.

Mourinho has recently urged his first-team regulars to return early from their vacation following their World Cup exploits. Marcus Rashford is among those scheduled to join his United teammates in the coming days.
