Adnan Januzaj’s career has somewhat stalled after breaking into the Manchester United first team.
The Belgian winger was a revelation announcing himself with a brace against Sunderland but lack of opportunity and poor form has seen him forced to the periphery of Louis Van Gaal’s struggling side.
On Monday, given a chance to change the game, the winger came under fire for a perceived dive following a challenge from Arsenal’s Nacho Monreal.
Now the 20 year old is looking to beef up with extra gym sessions with the hope of becoming harder to knock off the ball.
Speaking to the club’s official website, Januzaj said:
“I do a lot of work in the gym. I am trying to be faster and stronger so I can be tougher when I go out on the pitch. I am doing a lot of short, sharp stuff so, when I turn a defender or go past a player, I can just get a few metres away from them with my acceleration.“
Januzaj will look to get back to the form that saw him become one of the most in demand youngsters in Europe prior to signing a 5 year deal at Old Trafford, and with United undergoing a tough run of games, the club will hope he can too.
