Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho is reported to have made a surprise decision to part ways with Paul Pogba during this summer’s transfer window. The Portuguese tactician is said to have lost his patience with the Frenchman, who has been fairly inconsistent with his performances this term.
According to The Mirror, Mourinho is prepared to dispense with the France international when the transfer window reopens in July. It is added that the Portuguese could also sanction the exits of three other players including Daley Blind, Matteo Darmian and surprisingly Anthony Martial.
Obviously, Blind and Darmian have been out-of-favour over the course of the season, and it serves right for United to acquire funds from their sale during the summer. However, the speculation surrounding Pogba and Martial look rather surprising with the former being praised just a week ago for his match-defining derby performance.
Mourinho dismissed the talk of a rift between him and the £200k-per-week star earlier in the campaign, and losing a player of the Frenchman’s calibre should surely not come into the thought of the Portuguese. United’s season has evolved around different mood swings, and the media appear to be taking full advantage of the situation by linking Pogba with a probable exit, which may not happen in the near future, at the least.
