Burton Albion manager and the son of Brian Clough, Nigel, has compared Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho to his legendary father.
Manchester United prepare to square off against Burton Albion in the third round of the Carabao Cup on Wednesday night and it goes without saying that the Red Devils head into the clash as overwhelming favourites.
That being said, Burton do possess a decent team and a manager in Nigel Clough who has built his career on pulling off major upsets.
Nigel’s father is of course the legendary Nottingham Forest boss Brian and ahead of Burton’s clash against Manchester United, the 51-year-old has drawn favourable comparisons between Jose Mourinho and his father.
Clough said, “I think just the way they go about it and the way that they deal with things in such a no-nonsense manner. It’s black or it’s white and that’s it. If a player does the job for him, he has him in, and if he doesn’t, that’s it.
“I think they look at things in very similar ways in that department. I think the way he (Mourinho) deals with the press and the media, there are similarities there but he’s just no-nonsense and says what he thinks and that’s the biggest similarity.”
