Jose Mourinho confirms four starters for the Watford game

Manchester United manage Jose Mourinho has confirmed at least four starters for the club’s final game of the Premier League season against Watford. Earlier this week, the Portuguese confirmed that outgoing captain Michael Carrick would start against the Hornets and he has now revealed three other candidates who could feature from the off.

Speaking after the 0-0 draw against West Ham United, Mourinho hinted that both Alexis Sanchez and Jesse Lingard could be rested on Sunday with Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial likely to assume their respective roles.

Adding further, the manager confirmed that Sergio Romero should earn his first league appearance of the campaign ahead of David de Gea, who is expected to be rested after securing the Premier League Gloven Glove award for the first time.

“It is normal that Michael Carrick is captain at Old Trafford for the last game of his career. David de Gea will be rested, it gives a chance for Sergio Romero to play, I can make changes,” he is quoted as saying by M.E.N.

Manchester United cemented the runner-up spot in the standings after a  0-0 draw against West Ham United on the road. The Watford game on Sunday offers the likes of Rashford and Martial to stake a claim for a starting spot in the FA Cup final.
