Jose Mourinho ‘in huge disagreement’ with the Manchester United board

According to reports from the Daily Express, Jose Mourinho is currently at odds with the Manchester United board regarding the contractual situation of midfielder Marouane Fellaini.

While Marouane Fellaini is yet to convince a section of the Manchester United faithful despite already being in his fifth season at Old Trafford, he certainly has the full faith of manager Jose Mourinho and as a result, the Portuguese tactician is looking to tie down the midfielder to a new contract at Old Trafford.

Fellaini is currently in the final year of his deal at Manchester United and Mourinho has made it clear that he wants the Belgian international to extend his stay with the club.

Recently there were talks that United were on the verge of sealing the deal for Fellaini but in an update from the Daily Express, claims are being made that the club hierarchy are wary of handing the ex-Everton man a lucrative new deal.

It is being claimed that Fellaini’s wage demands of around £150,000-per-week is causing the United board concern and they are currently hesitant to bow down to such requests from the player’s representatives.

At the same time, Mourinho wants to see the deal taking place at all costs and this is believed to be causing friction between the 55-year-old manager and the United chiefs.
