According to reports, Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has zeroed in on the ‘mole’ who has been spreading confidential information regarding team sheets.
There has evidently been a host of problems surrounding Manchester United since the appointment of Jose Mourinho as manager this summer.
Poor form, injury crisis and player unrest are just some of the issues that have plagued United during the current campaign so far and recently, English tabloid newspaper, the Sun, had sensationally claimed that Mourinho was also dealing with a mole within the club.
According to reports, someone at United had been leaking information regarding Mourinho’s team sheet to an unidentified fan, sometimes even a whole day before a match.
Usually, the match day squads are revealed by official club accounts just an hour before the kick-off of a particular match, while the members of the press attending the game are barred from releasing such information until it has been disclosed officially.
However, there were claims by the Sun that they saw a message detailing United’s lineup ahead of the Europa League clash against Zorya Luhansk on September 29th a full three hours before the clash was scheduled to start.
A United insider allegedly told the Sun last month, “Mourinho is spitting feathers after discovering he’s being betrayed by someone within the club. This sort of information is gold dust for opposition managers and gamblers.”
Mourinho is understandably said to be not happy with the leaks and had reportedly launched an internal investigation to identify the mole within his ranks.
Due to the internal probe, the mole is now believed to have been scared off and the leaks are alleged to have now stopped – if reports emerging out of England are to be believed.
No one currently at United has officially acknowledged the reported leaks but if it were true, Mourinho would surely have been relieved to see the illegal act coming to a halt.
