According to reports from the Daily Star, Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has inside information on Arsenal’s alleged pursuit for Karim Benzema next summer.
Karim Benzema has been a wonderful servant for Real Madrid since joining the club back in 2009 and he recently extended his contract with Los Blancos till 2021, with the La Liga title holders putting in a huge €1billion release clause.
While Benzema is considered a valued member of the Madrid squad, it is believed that the European Champions are looking to sign Tottenham Hotspur Harry Kane for big money next summer and the potential arrival of the Englishman could push the French international down the pecking order at the Santiago Bernabeu.
Therefore, a number of clubs are already said to be looking at the possibility of signing Benzema and Premier League outfit Arsenal are allegedly very keen on landing the 29-year-old, with Real Madrid also open to negotiations at the right price.
Now in an update, the Daily Star have carried out reports claiming that Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho has inside information on Arsenal’s alleged pursuit of Benzema and the Portuguese tactician has been informing people close to him regarding the potential transfer.
It is unlikely that Mourinho will look to gazump Arsenal’s attempts to sign Benzema as United already have the services of Romelu Lukaku but that being said, the Frenchman could prove to be a good addition to the Red Devils’ squad if they want to challenge for the Champions League title in the near future.
