Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho is prepared to keep Andreas Pereira at Old Trafford next season despite the numerous clubs interested in a temporary deal for his services.
The Brazil Under-23 international enjoyed a fruitful loan spell with Spanish club Granada last term although they were relegated to the second tier of Spanish football.
Pereira managed to score five goals in 37 outings across all competitions for the Nazaries while featuring in different positions including the support striker role and central midfield.
According to The Sun, Mourinho does not have a keen interest in loaning out the academy graduate as he feels the Brazilian could play a role in the upcoming campaign.
With Marouane Fellaini on the cusp of leaving for Galatasaray, Mourinho is said to want additional reinforcements in midfield with Pereira identified as a suitable backup option.
Nevertheless, Manchester United are seemingly closer to signing Chelsea’s Nemanja Matic by the day, and his arrival could tempt Pereira to request for a potential loan exit as he would not want to sit on the substitutes’ bench.
Pereira switched his allegiance from Belgium to Brazil at the Under-20 level, and he will have his sights on developing his game further in order to earn his maiden cap with the senior squad.
