Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho could seek to pursue a surprise move for Real Madrid midfielder Isco during the summer transfer window. The Spain international signed a contract extension with Los Blancos earlier this term, but he has been urged to consider his future amid the reduced playing time under Zinedine Zidane.
According to Don Balon, the former Malaga man could be the subject of Premier League interest in the summer with both Manchester City and Manchester United seemingly keen on his services. City boss Pep Guardiola has particularly shown intent to bolster the attacking midfield with David Silva on the wrong side of his 30s but they are likely to face competition from the Red Devils.
In a press-conference earlier this month, Mourinho confirmed that he won’t move in for attack-minded recruits during the summer, but there could be an exceptional case with Isco, who could been seen as the ideal number 10 to provide the service which Romelu Lukaku yearns for.
Isco begun the campaign as a regular in the Real Madrid lineup with Gareth Bale spending time on the sidelines with a calf problem. However, over the past month, the Welshman has been a regular in the starting lineup, and this has dropped him down the pecking order with a solitary start in his previous five appearances.
