Manchester United are no stranger to seeing their head coach signing players from their former team. Erik ten Hag frequently signed players from his former club Ajax although not all of them turned out to be successes.
Now, the Red Devils will soon be managed by Sporting CP coach, Ruben Amorim. The Portuguese club have a number of talented players in their ranks but no one is gaining more prominence in Europe currently than Viktor Gyokeres.

The Swedish striker had an excellent last season but there were concerns about how he could translate those numbers into the new campaign. It is safe to say that Gyokeres has started this season in even better form than he did last time.
Understandably, there has been a clamour for Ruben Amorim to bring Gyokeres to Manchester United. Now, as per Florian Plettenberg, the likelihood of that happening next summer is quite high, with the player having a valuation of £50m-£59m.
Plettenberg has revealed that the incoming Man Utd manager is a huge fan of Viktor Gyokeres.
The Swedish striker has scored 59 goals and provided 23 assists in 65 games under Amorim at Sporting so far. The player is also extremely comfortable playing under the manager.
Manchester United might have just signed a couple of strikers in successive transfer windows but the new manager will come in with new ideas. Not many clubs in the world would say no to Gyokeres in the current situation.
It remains to be seen how Man Utd go about signing Viktor Gyokeres. Manchester City, Arsenal, Liverpool, and Chelsea are also in the race for him and let’s wait and see how it goes.
