Manchester United goalkeeper David De Gea has made a huge hint that he could stay put at Old Trafford for a number of years to come.

David De Gea has established himself as one of the best goalkeepers in the world over the past few years and his form has been crucial to helping Manchester United’s rebuilding process following the departure of Sir Alex Ferguson a couple of seasons ago.

Given his wonderful exploits, Spanish giants Real Madrid have unsurprisingly displayed a willingness to sign De Gea and were very close to landing the services of the 26-year-old back in the summer of 2015, only for a fax machine misunderstanding leading to the collapse of the transfer.

Two years on from the saga, Real Madrid are now allegedly looking to revive their interest in signing De Gea during the upcoming summer transfer window but in an admission which will come as a huge boost for the United fans, the Spanish international has hinted that he wants to stay at Old Trafford for the foreseeable future.

De Gea said, “It’s just the beginning, we have had great games. We’ve created a lot of chances, scored goals, and we need to keep that level.

“The team is now with a lot of confidence and it is easy when you take confidence to the pitch. We have to keep winning, playing well and scoring goals.

“I feel really well, I feel confident, strong. I train hard every day and it’s good to hear from the people that I’m one of the best.”
