Serie A holders Juventus have reportedly been in contact with Anthony Martial’s entourage regarding a move to Turin. The France international has regularly been linked with a Manchester United exit over the past month despite claims that Jose Mourinho is not interested in his sale.
According to Tuttosport, via Calciomercato, the Bianconeri have been in communication with the Frenchman’s representatives as they seek to push through his potential transfer from Old Trafford.
Martial had an impressive beginning to his 2017/18 season and this earned him a regular starting role until January. However, he thereafter struggled for sufficient gametime due to Alexis Sanchez’s arrival and failed to contribute a goal or assist between February and the end of the campaign.
The Frenchman has since been associated with a probable exit from Old Trafford and it appears that Mourinho could face a battle to keep hold of the forward, considering United are interested in a couple of Juventus players.
Both Mario Mandzukic and Alex Sandro are on United’s radar for the summer and there could yet be the possibility of a probable swap with Martial and Matteo Darmian – who has already held talks with the Bianconeri – heading in the opposite direction.
