Borussia Dortmund manager Jurgen Klopp has confirmed a Mats Hummels transfer to Manchester United is on the cards, claiming the defender is mulling over the move to Old Trafford.
Hummels appears to be United’s number one target this summer, with Louis Van Gaal intent on strengthening his side further after spending over £150m last summer.
With departures expected, Van Gaal will continue to shape the side in his image and that includes getting Hummels in. The defender had stated that he intended to stay in Germany, but has recently changed his record stating that he is open to playing abroad, namely in England.
Now his manager has confirmed that he is thinking over a move to United, telling broadcaster DW Sport:
“He’s good enough for Manchester United. He’s told me he’s thinking things over. We’re always looking around the market ourselves.
“That we want to keep Mats is beyond question. How that works out I don’t know. There’s always a list of players who would be interesting in the event that you need them.”
The 26 year old will likely cost United upwards of £30m, but they are aware they will likely face competition for his signature.
Man united manager, Louis Van Gaal, is a good philosopher. Really, your philosophy is uplifting man united players, fans and officials to the pinnacle of Manchester FC. With this, Chelsea is in trouble!. long live ! long live!! long live !!! Van Gaal.
