Man Utd believe £89million star could finally sign this summer – Face competition

Koulibaly and Skriniar

Manchester United remain interested in Kalidou Koulibaly and now the latest reports suggest that even the central defender is looking to join the Red Devils.

According to Corriere dello Sport, the Senegalese international is very interested in Manchester United move but the Old Trafford outfit are not the only team he likes.

Transfer: Man Utd consider shock move to sign £300,000-a-week attacker – High priority

The renowned Italian source have mentioned that the African is also interested in moving to Liverpool. So, the battle is between the arch rivals, who are two of the most successful sides in England.

CdS claim that last year, Manchester United came up with a mammoth offer of £108million for the Napoli star but Aurelio de Laurentiis opted the reject the move to keep his prized asset. It is stated that the Red Devils are still wondering how that big a move was turned down by the Serie A club.

Furthermore, the outlet have claimed that the Premier League giants believe that this summer, the move could finally be sealed.

As far as the price tag is concerned, Corriere dello Sport claim that the market value of Koulibaly has dropped but the club president is not in the mood of lowering down his asking price of 100 million euros (£89million).

Last summer, Manchester United splashed £80million to make Harry Maguire the most expensive defender in the world.

The Red Devils may have to break the bank again if they really want to lure Koulibaly, who is a world class center back.

The real question is, do the Red Devils really need a central defender? They already have the likes of Lindelof, Maguire, Bailly, Jones and Tuanzebe around. Moreover, this term, they have performed much better in the defensive third as compared to last season.

In your opinion, should Solskjaer move in with an offer of £89million to finally sign Kalidou Koulibaly?
