Manchester United, despite failing to qualify for any European football for the upcoming season, continue to have a certain pull in the transfer market. The Red Devils have already wrapped up the signing of Matheus Cunha from Wolves.
The club continue to be linked with top talent around the world and Ruben Amorim needs to identify who he wants in his team to help him mount his project at Old Trafford. It is not going to be easy for the Portuguese tactician.

Yesterday, we covered a story, revealing Man Utd’s interest in Eintracht Frankfurt striker Hugo Ekitike. The Old Trafford outfit were linked with a potential move for the young Frenchman, joining Liverpool and Chelsea in the race for him.
Now, as per journalist Florian Plettenberg, Liverpool see themselves as having a good chance of signing the talented striker, beating Man Utd to his signature. However, the Reds are looking to sell Darwin Nunez before moving for the 22-year-old.
The journalist mentions that Chelsea also retain interest in the ex-PSG attacker. Ekitike is coming off a very good season at the German club, playing 48 appearances across all competitions, scoring 22 goals and providing 12 assists.
Ekitike has a contract with Frankfurt until 2029. The Bundesliga club have all the power in negotiations and with so much interest from top Premier League clubs, it makes a lot of sense that they stick to their asking price.
Man Utd will be wary of Liverpool’s interest in the Frenchman and the Merseysiders should be considered favorites to attract Ekitike considering they offer a much bigget and better sporting project.
Even otherwise, the Red Devils would be better off not pursuing a move for Ekitike. It is not worth for the club to spend so much money on a young striker.
What United need is a striker who can immediately hit the ground running at Old Trafford. They also need to be aware of how much they are willing to spend on a new striker. Only time will tell how it plays out.
