Former Liverpool star Pepe Reina has advised fellow goalkeeper David De Gea to remain at Old Trafford amidst reported interest from Real Madrid.
De Gea’s contract is running down and many expect him to join Real Madrid sooner rather than later.
United’s player of the year, Reina believes that De Gea has no reason to leave Old Trafford as he told Talksport this morning:
“He is one of the top ‘keepers in Europe and this year he has been superb. Maybe Real Madrid are looking for a ‘keeper and De Gea is one of the names suggested, but I think he should be happy enough to play for Man United.”
I don’t expect Reina’s comments will have gone down well on Merseyside!
