Not happy that this attacking sensation plays for Man United — Liverpool legend

Liverpool icon Steven Gerrard has lamented the fact that Marcus Rashford is a Manchester United player.

Marcus Rashford is arguably one of the most exciting young talents in world football at the moment and the youngster really seems to have found his feet during the current campaign, already scoring four goals for both club and country this season so far.

Rashford made his debut in the Champions League during Manchester United’s 3-0 victory over Basel at Old Trafford on Tuesday night and got himself on the scoresheet once again in a very impressive cameo after coming off from the bench for Juan Mata.

Steven Gerrard was covering United’s match against Basel for BT Sport and following the game, the Liverpool legend waxed lyrical about Rashford’s wonderful abilities.

Gerrard claimed that Rashford is a player of unbelievable potential and also lamented the fact that such a quality footballer is currently plying his trade for Liverpool’s fierce rivals Manchester United.

The former England captain said of Rashford, “Lovely footballer, unbelievable potential. For wingers who stay out wide, they don’t get many goals but if you attack that far post on the opposite side you will score goals.

“He’s got a wonderful future. He’s very good, he’s got a huge future. It’s good that he’s English but not good that he’s a Man Utd player. He scores all kinds of goals. Credit to the kid to have that bottle.”
