Former Liverpool midfielder Danny Murphy believes that Paul Pogba’s defensive qualities are not very good.
Paul Pogba may have come under a lot of criticism since his whopping £89million move to Manchester United from Juventus last summer but there is no denying the fact that the Frenchman is a key player for the Red Devils.
Pogba’s importance has been highlighted by the fact that United’s fortunes have improved dramatically since his return to full fitness and the 24-year-old is certain to be crucial if they are to claim good results during the upcoming encounters against Arsenal and Manchester City.
Despite Pogba’s recent fine performances, the midfielder still remains a figure of much criticism and Liverpool legend Danny Murphy has now gone on to question the United star for his inability to carry out his defensive duties.
Murphy explained on BBC Radio 5 Live, “I had to learn how to be a defensive midfielder. You have to spot the danger. It’s part of the job and he’s not great at that. He’s brilliant at everything else, but he doesn’t want to defend. It’s a psychological thing.”
