Manchester United supporters were pleased with the impact of Anthony Martial, who netted the sole goal in the club’s Premier League triumph over Burnley. The Red Devils had an average performance during the first period, but they came out after the break with a renewed vigour as Martial notched a well-timed goal after a brilliant assist from Romelu Lukaku.
With Alexis Sanchez set to join United, Martial’s left-wing position is likely to come under consideration, but judging by his recent performances, Jose Mourinho could be urged to utilise his new recruit on the right flank to encourage the Frenchman’s sublime form.
Tony Martial!! So so clinical!! Love this man❤️❤️

@DiscoMirror I bet before you go to bed every night you look in the mirror and think, I'm a right Cunt, after your little article on Martial in 2015 before he'd kicked a ball for Man Utd. pic.twitter.com/sDOTJT2tAJ

I love Rashford I think he is talented but he is no way better than Martial. it isn't even a discussion worth having. Martial plays in a different league to him. martial deserves all the plaudits he gets because he works harder at his game than anyone world class is not far off pic.twitter.com/ULVbLcSkg6

What a goal from Martial. He's now scored in 3 consecutive league games. Lukaku with an absolute beautiful pass man. His link-up since he's joined United has been unbelievable.

Brilliant from Lukaku. Could have played in Lingard but delayed and gave it to Martial instead. Good finish from Martial. Again.

Anthony Martial didn't score his 11th in 2015-16 until March. Already has 11 this season. Deserves to be assured of his place even when Sanchez is done. #mufc

Martial has now opened the scoring for Manchester United in three consecutive matches, and his progress has clearly seen him establish as the first-choice winger ahead of Marcus Rashford. Rashford had his highpoints earlier in the campaign, but the Englishman may have to settle for a bench role at best with Sanchez likely to command a starting spot from the off.
Despite his success, Martial does not quite favour the left-wing as he likes to feature more centrally. Mourinho utilised Martial in a two-striker partnership in the Champions League earlier this campaign, and he could yet tempted to go with a similar formation.
