Luke Shaw’s agent responds to Manchester United exit talk

The representative of Luke Shaw has dismissed claims that the left-back could leave Manchester United this summer as the club ‘love’ him. The England international has been recently tipped to leave Old Trafford in a part-exchange deal involving Tottenham Hotspur’s Danny Rose.

Shaw, 22, had a tough period during the previous campaign as he managed just one league appearance between November to March despite regaining full fitness. His return to the starting lineup was, however, short lived after he sustained an ankle injury in the 1-1 draw against Swansea City just a month after.

The former Southampton graduate had travelled alongside his teammates for their pre-season tour, and he is now on the road to recovery with Jose Mourinho stating he could return to first-team action in September.

Jonathan Barnett, who also represents Gareth Bale, put an end to Shaw’s ongoing speculation by insisting that his client will stay at Old Trafford in order to become one of the best full-backs in the world, he told IBTimes:  “Luke Shaw is going to be one of the best left-backs in the world. Manchester United love him and Luke Shaw loves Manchester United.”

United currently have the likes of Matteo Darmian and Daley Blind to take up the left-back duties, and Shaw has a tough task in hand to regain his starting spot with Marcos Rojo also set to return during the campaign.
