Man United above all in PL, £62million would get attacker signing done – Report

Federico Chiesa Fiorentina

Manchester United have been interested in signing Federico Chiesa for quite some time and the latest reports going on in the media are interesting.

Last month, Italian outlet La Nazione reported that the Red Devils even made an offer of 50 million euros for the Italian international but Fiorentina opted to reject the bid and claimed that 70 million euros (£62million) would be needed to get his signing done.

Transfer: Man United consider move to sign £53.6million playmaker – Report

More recently, yesterday, Corriere Fiorentino covered a story and claimed that the Viola are still demanding a maximum fee of 70 million euros for their prized asset and Juve are not willing to match the asking price.

The Italian source have further mentioned that the possibility of Chiesa moving to England is there and in the PL, Man United are above all, leading at the moment.

The 22-year-old attacker is naturally a winger but this season, Fiorentina have mostly played him as an out and out center forward.

So far, in 27 Serie A appearances this term, the Azzurri star has directly contributed in 11 goals (6 goals and 5 assists).

We are already using a natural winger, Anthony Martial, in the No. 9 role. Therefore, to improve the srike-force a, natural striker should be bought.

As far as the right wing position is concerned, Greenwood has already scored 9 goals for us in just 8 league starts. Moreover, we are linked with Jadon Sancho, who directly contributed in 34 goals for Dortmund in the recently concluded Bundelisga campaign.

So, I do not think that Federico Chiesa is good enough and he really is not worth the price tag of £62million. Therefore, Solskjaer must not splash the cash to lure him.
