Manchester United need a top quality center forward for the long term and they are linked with Argentine international, Lautaro Martinez.
According to a recent report covered by La Gazzetta Dello Sport (via SW), Man United have made contact to sign the striker from Inter Milan.
The Italian news source have mentioned that teams are “crazy” about signing the South American center forward and the likes of Man Utd and PSG are at the forefront.
However, GdS claim that Martinez has told the Nerazzurri to set aside all the proposals as he wants to stay at the club.
The 25-year-old has won every major domestic title with Inter Milan, on the other hand, he was a key member of the La Albiceleste side that won the Copa America and the Finalissima.
Last season, the former Racing club center forward scored 25 goals in all competitions for the Serie A side. This season, so far, in 12 starts (all competitions), the 40-capped international has directly contributed in 7 goals under Simone Inzaghi.
Last year, Martinez agreed a new deal worth 6 million euros per season i.e. £99,500 a week and it will expire in the summer of 2026 (Correire della Sera).
Back in July, Edinson Cavani left Man Utd on a bosman, on the other hand, Ronaldo will be out of contract next summer.
Therefore, Erik ten Hag needs to bring in a quality out and out striker, who can serve the club in the long run. In your view, should Man Utd make a crazy offer to sign Lautaro Martinez?
