Manchester United need to act swiftly in the transfer market and lure their targets soon so that they can fit in the team before the start of the new campaign.
Frenkie de Jong is consistently linked with a move to Old Trafford and Sport (news image provided below) have provided an update today.
Transfer: From Italy – Man Utd bid £60m+ for regista and especially want £56m creative star
The famous Spanish source have mentioned that Man Untied are best positioned to seal the signing of the Dutchman, who is seriously wanted by Erik ten Hag.
It is stated that thus far, Barca have not received any official proposal as yet and they are waiting for Man United to move in and submit an offer.
Sport claim that the Catalan club will only accept a fee of 80 million euros (£68million) and a few days back, the media outlet reported that the Red Devils are ready to meet the asking price to get the signing done.
However, it is reiterated that as of now, the proposal has not reached the offices of the Spanish club.
Midfield is the weakest link at Old Trafford and it is baffling that the club have not adequately spent to strengthen the department over the years.
Brazilian international, Fred, was the last key central midfield signing and the Samba star was lured back in 2018 when Portuguese boss, Jose Mourinho, was the head coach of the club.
With Matic and Pogba are gone as well, the department desperately needs to be reinforced and an experienced player like De Jong would be a top addition.
