Erik ten Hag - Manchester United manager

Manchester United have been after Martin Zubimendi for quite some time and once again, the Real Sociedad play breaker is in the focus.

In the January transfer window, the Red Devils were seriously interested in signing the Spanish international but the move did not happen.

Transfer: Details left – Man Utd prepared to pay £43m-£71m for signing – Reports

As per today’s version of Mundo Deportivo (news image provided below, Man Utd are still after Zubimendi, who is also on the radar of Barcelona and Arsenal.

The Catalan media outlet have mentioned that United were ‘seduced’ by the impressive performances of the player when the two teams faced in the Europa League.

MD claim Sociedad will only sell their prized asset if his release clause of £52million (60 million euros) is activated in the summer.

The above mention exit clause was inserted in the deal when the defensive midfielder extended his stay until 2027 back in October last year.

Right now, he is one of the highest earning players at the club. Still, the Spanish news source claim that Man United and Arsenal can double his wages to get his signing done.

Real Sociedad has the third best defensive record in the La Liga this season and Zubimendi has been brilliant for them. The Erreala currently occupy the final Champions League qualification spot in the table.

Do you think Man United need to sign Martin Zubimendi in the presence of arguably the best play breaker, Casemiro?
