Manchester United are linked with several quality center backs and once again the name of Dayot Upamecano is in the focus.
According to Sport Bild, Man United are committed to sign the French international in the next summer’s transfer window.
The renowned German outlet have mentioned that the Les Bleus star has got a release clause of 45 million euros in his contract which would become active next summer and the likes of Real Madrid and Manchester City are also interested in hiring his services.
In all honesty, the Red Devils need to strengthen their central defense as soon as possible and ideally, Solskjaer should move to sign the 22-year-old center half in the upcoming January transfer window.
We have leaked goals on regular basis this season and do not look solid at the back. Maguire has not been able to lead the line appropriately and the likes of Lindelof and Tuanzebe are not top quality players. Therefore, the department should be reinforced in winter.
Upamecano had an impressive last campaign with RB Leipzig and the fact that big clubs are after him indicates that he is a top talent.
In my view, it will be hard for Man United to battle European giants next summer because the player has a relatively low clause. So, a January move should be considered.
Dayot Upamecano will be out of contract in 2023 and as per The Sun, the star defender is currently valued at £55million. In your opinion, should Man Utd wait for the summer to improve the back-line or should they splash the cash to solve the conundrum in January?
