Transfer: Man Utd won over, could move to sign midfielder – Valued £54m in winter – Face competition

Cadena Ser claim that Barcelona are also interested in the Uruguayan forward as they look to replace his compatriot, Luis Suarez, at the Nou Camp.

Manchester United do need to improve their strike-force in the summer transfer window. Last year, the opted to sell Romelu Lukaku and the striker has not been replaced at Old Trafford as yet.

The Belgian international scored for fun for Inter Milan in the last campaign and netted 34 goals in all competitions. Our two top scorers, Rashford and Martial scored a combined 34 goals (17 each) in the Premier League last term.

So, a proven quality goal scorer should be lured. The question is, should Man United move to lure Gomez?

In the 2018-19 campaign, the 17-capped international scored 13 goals in 36 games for Celta Vigo. On the other hand, last season, the 24-year-old forward found the net 10 times in 43 appearances for Valencia.

So, the stats do not seem good enough. Moreover, his valuation is very high as well. Cadena Ser report that Gomez’s current contract has a release clause 140 million euros and the Mestalla outfit would want a minimum of 60 million euros (£53.7million) to sell him.

In your view, who should Man United sign to strengthen their strike-force this summer?

  1. My honest opinion about who should sign this summer is that first and foremost a defender to partner with Maguire, then a creative midfielder to assist Bruno, and finally a striker. Dembele from Lyon.

  2. So many different names coming up with regards to Man.Utd transfer and so many different rumours about Harry Maguire’s matter and then again to hear some devastating news on Paul Pogbha sadly affected with the Covid.
There seems to be all bad news for Man.Utd. The fans are never hearing any positive news and time is running out for Man.
Utd to give the fans a bit of spark and hope that we have secured some good signing. As the new players have to have enough of time to train and play with old players in order to perform well enough when the games start.

  3. It looks like we are destined to keep on receiving bad news. At this stage nothing seems to be awakening Man.utd. What next with Maguie.then Pogba and now Rashford. It is is about time to get Sancho now. As they say strike the rod when it is hot. Do not lose the opportunity as we need to get the players in as it seems like Man.Utd is looking like it is heading for disasters all over again. We did not reach the top and neither are we trying to put things right before it is too very late.
They should think of doing the deals as proposed like Jadon Sancho and Jack Grealish atleast. It looks the fans may all walk away from this team and become fans of other better clubs.

  4. I’m sorry to state although this may sound rude but all we hear is bad news and depressing news and pictures of Man.Utd’s downfall and it is like reaching a level of a nowhere point.

  5. I feel that player Luke shaw has excellent defending skills and needs to be at our club.
Secondly Man.Utd should try to buy Sadio Mane from Liverpool as things stand he seems to be feeling not much wanted at his team. Now is the time to make an offer and approach.
