Man United could move to secure signing of £36.4million midfielder – Face competition

If reports in the media are anything to go by then surprisingly, Man United could move to secure the signing of an Arsenal player in the summer transfer window.

According to L’Equipe, the Red Devils have expressed their interest in hiring the services of Matteo Guendouzi, who is not liked by Arteta and is allowed to leave for a fee worth 40 million euros (£36.4million)

Transfer: Manchester United have to agree signing of £22million playmaker

The renowned French source have revealed that the likes of Inter Milan, Barcelona and Atletico Madrid are also interested in the French midfielder, who is looking to leave the Emirates outfit in the summer.

Guendouzi was lured by the north Londoners last year when Unai Emery was in charge of the club. Under the management of the Spanish boss, the youngster immediately became a regular starter and featured in 33 league games last term.

As far as this season is concerned, he has so far made 34 appearances in all competitions for the 13 time English champions but has not been able to score a goal as yet.

The 21-year-old is naturally a central midfielder but he has also played in the DM role. Overall, in 82 games thus far, he has only found the net once and provided 5 assists for the Gunners, who have struggled in the Premier League for some time.

Under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, United have been unable to strengthen their midfield department. Fred was the last major midfield capture and the Brazilian international was lured back in 2018 when Jose Mourinho was in charge at Old Trafford.

Since the appointment of the Norwegian boss, the Red Devils have lost midfielders like Marouane Fellaini and Ander Herrea. In fact, they have not even replaced the duo as yet.

Therefore, in the upcoming summer transfer window, the Old Trafford outfit should look to improve things in the center of the park. The question is, do you think that Matteo Guendouzi is good enough to reinforce the midfield?

  1. We should be getting players that are able to attack as well as defend. I always think the players from Scandinavian and also the Bundesliga are the tough material that we need. But the last player we had was from Ireland(Roy Keane}. We need players with that caliber. Buy someone that no one knew. Look at OCS, when he first came. No one knew who is he, but he prove others wrong.
