Manchester United have been linked with Jadon Sancho for a few months and now another young English winger is in the lime light as well.
According to Record, Man United and Tottenham are in the battle to sign Marcus Edwards from Liga Nos side Vitoria Guimaraes.
Transfer: Favorites Man United ready to bide time to sign £190,000-a-week attacker – Report
The well-known Portuguese source have stated (via Desportivo de Guimarães) that the former Spurs youth player could be lured for a fee of 20-25 million euros (£18-£23million).
Edwards has been in decent form in the Primeira Liga for Guimaraes in the current campaign.
In just 17 league starts thus far, the 21-year-old winger has directly contributed (Transfermarkt) in 12 goals this term (5 goals and 7 assists).
Moreover, the youngster also scored against Arsenal and Frankfurt in the Europa League group stages.
As far his international career is concerned, so far, he has featured in 8 games for England’s U-20 side, scored 2 goals and also provided 2 assists.
Man Utd do need to improve their right wing because we clearly lack quality and depth in the position. First choice Daniel James is not good enough and a top player should be lured to replace him in the starting XI.
Jadon Sancho would be a top capture but if somehow we fail to secure his signature then an alternative must be lured. In your view, is Marcus Edwards good enough to strengthen the attack at Old Trafford?
