Manchester United have been highly inconsistent in the defensive third this term and already, in just 19 league games, they have let in 27 goals.
Over the years, the Red Devils have spent a lot of cash to strengthen their back-line. Still, things have not improved. United desperately need a rock solid player who would provide cover to the back four.
Transfer: Man United ready massive offer to sign £100,000 a week star – Report
If reports in the media are anything to go by then Man Utd are eager to sign French international and Monaco starlet Aurelien Tchouameni.
According to The Athletic’s David Ornstein, the Old Trafford outfit are keen on luring the Les Bleus midfielder, who is also on the radar of arch-rivals Liverpool.
The 21-year-old play breaker’s current deal with the Ligue 1 side will expire in the summer of 2024 and as per reports (Sport), the youngster is already rated at around 60 million euros (£50million).
At Old Trafford, Ralf Rangnick does not have a specialist defensive midfield star. The likes of Fred and McTominay are not natural tacklers, on the other hand, our only natural holding midfielder is Nemanja Matic, who will turn 34 in August and is clearly past his best.
Therefore, the Serbian international must be replaced and Tchouameni, who was a key member of the French squad that won the UEFA Nations League, could be a top addition.
In your view, should Man Utd splash £50million to sign him this month?
