Manchester United favourite Dwight Yorke has urged the club to focus their attention on signing Gareth Bale and has described the Real Madrid as ‘the perfect addition’.
Last month, the Wales international suggested that he may consider his future Los Blancos future at the Bernabeu after being sparingly used by Zinedine Zidane from the starting lineup.
However, the European champions have since witnessed Zidane leave the club in a shock resignation and this could change the Welshman’s stance for the summer.
Regardless of this, United great Yorke believes the 28-year-old should remain the club’s priority ahead of next season and he is the perfect fit for the attack, which under-fired on occasions last term.
He told 888sport: “United and Jose don’t need to look at the World Cup. No player suits us more than Gareth Bale. Yes there will always be some exciting candidates to look at but Bale is someone who excites me. He is the right age, in his prime, and will be the perfect addition.”
Earlier this month, reports suggested that Bale could be an option for United with manager Jose Mourinho eyeing a right-sided winger, who can accompany Romelu Lukaku and Alexis Sanchez in the frontline.
But in recent days, the focus is deemed to have changed with the manager said to be eyeing a back-up for Romelu Lukaku, who can offer the same physical attribute upfront.
Whatever happens, if United were to approach for Bale this summer, the deal could be sorted out in the coming weeks, considering the attacker is not participating at the World Cup finals.
