Man United have made contact to sign £240,000-a-week ‘creative genius’ – Face competition

Liverpool supporters would be absolutely livid if former star Philippe Coutinho ends up signing for Manchester United. Will that happen? Only time will tell.

For now, reports in Spain (Mundo Deportivo) suggest that Man United are interested in signing the Brazilian international and have even contacted his representative Kia Joorabchian.

Transfer: Man United are already positioned to sign £70million attacker – Face competition

As per MD, the likes of Chelsea and Leicester City also want to hire the services of the South American playmaker and Barcelona are prepared to sell him for 80-90 million euros.

Last month, Phil Thomspon heavily praised the Samba star and said that he could return to Liverpool. The Anfield Legend told Sky (via Goal):

“I think he’s a creative genius. You look back at his Liverpool career and he was absolutely terrific. He’s not too old and I still think he could come back.”

Coutinho is a proven Premier League player. He hit his peak under Jurgen Klopp and was probably the best player in the 2017-18 season but he decided to leave the Merseysiders in the middle of the campaign.

The former Inter Milan playmaker turned out to be a flop at the Nou Camp and Barca dediced to loan him out to Bayern Munich after just one full season. Unfortunately, he has not been able to hit top form in Germany and now finds himself in a complex situation.

Coutinho is mainly a natural central attacking midfielder and we have already signed a top CAM in the form of Bruno Fernandes, who settled at Old Trafford in next to no time.

On the other hand, I do not think that £240,000-a-week star (Mirror Sport) would like to tarnish his relationship with Liverpool forever by opting to sign for Manchester United.

Would you welcome Philippe Coutinho at Old Trafford?

Eh? No, they won’t. Most of us have moved on. You’re welcome to have him, if you can pay whatever Barcelona will demand, plus his wages.
