Man United have made contact to sign £500,000-a-week world class star – Face competition

Widely regarded as the best player to ever grace the football field, Lionel Messi, is shockingly linked with a move away from Barcelona.

According to reports (ESPN) going on in the media, the Argentine superstar has told the Catalan giants that he wants to leave the club for free.

So, it is not surprising that the 33-year-old is linked with several football clubs and Manchester United are one of them.

According to Sport, Man United have made contact with the playmaker’s representative to hire his services. However, they face competition from French champions Paris Saint-Germain.

The renowned Spanish source have mentioned that the Red Devils and PSG would be in a position to push hard to secure the signing of the world class star, who has won the Ballon d’Or for a record 6 times in his career.

The South American playmaker can leave for free but if necessary the above mentioned clubs would even pay some compensation fee to Barca to complete his capture.

Messi scored 31 goals and provided 26 assists (Transfermartk) in all competitions last term, still, Barcelona failed to win even a single trophy.

Not just that, they were absolutely humiliated in the Champions League defeat vs Bayern Munich, who scored 8 goals past the La Liga giants. At the end of the game, Messi looked as if someone killed him from the inside. May be that’s why he wants the change.

Goes without saying, signing the La Albiceleste superstar is not going to be easy mainly because United have not competed for major prizes in the recent past. However, not many would be able to afford his wages and the Old Trafford outfit are one of the most richest clubs in the world.

Messi’s current contract (Goal) with Barcelona makes him earn a mammoth salary of £500,000-a-week (£26million-a-year).

  2. Messi is a superstar, though old but you can not at anytime compare him to Sancho. With him Man Utd will be crowned Champions of both England and Europe
