Man United have made contact to sign star with £98.7million clause – Face competition

Inter Milan Lautaro Martinez vs Barcelona

Manchester United are linked with numerous strikers and once again the name of Lautaro Martinez is in the focus.

According to Marca, Barca are mainly linked with the Argentine international but they are unsure. It is stated that the La Liga champions may have to cut the salary of their players in order to lure the striker from Inter Milan.

Transfer: Man United could finally secure signing of £53million forward, Solsksjar likes him – Report

The renowned Spanish source have mentioned that due to the indecisiveness, other suitors could jump in the race and take advantage of the situation. Manchester United have even made contact to hire the 22-year-old, who has got a huge release clause of 111 million (£98.7million) in his contract.

Marca claim that Man United are looking for a center forward and have met with Martinez’s agent recently. However, Real Madrid are also keeping a close eye on the scenario.

The young forward has excelled this term for the Nerazzurri under the management of former Chelsea manager Antonio Conte.

In all competitions, the South American striker has featured in 31 games and directly contributed in 20 goals (16 goals and 4 assists).

As far as his record for the La Albiceleste is concerned, so far, he has made 17 appearances for the two time World Cup winners and scored 9 goals.

We sold Romelu Lukaku to Inter last summer and even the Belgian, who was inconsistent for us last term, has been in top form for the Italian club. He has already netted 17 goals in 24 starts in the Serie A.

Yes, we do need to improve our strike-force but in all fairness, the level of competition for Martinez is only going to drive his price tag upwards. In your view, who should Solskjaer sign to strengthen the striking department?
