Man United have offered terms to secure fourth summer signing

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer

Manchester United cannot sign anyone from any team because the summer transfer window closed for the British clubs before the start of the new Premier League campaign.

However, the Red Devils can still sign free-agents and reports are heavily linking them with Fernando Llorente, who is looking for a new club.

Transfer: Report – Man Utd preparing huge move to sign £190,000-a-week attacker in winter

Few days back, TeamTalk exclusively revealed that the Spanish center forward is hoping to secure a move to Manchester United.

More recently, La Gazzetta Dello Sport (via Sport Witness) have claimed that Man United have offered a two-year deal to make the former Atheltic Bilbao forward their fourth signing of the summer.

Earlier in the summer, the Old Trafford club lured the likes of Daniel James, Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Harry Maguire (MUFC).

We have already lost a striker in the form of Lukaku to Inter Milan. The Belgian international was highly inconsistent, still, he was our top scoring center forward in the last campaign.

Solskjaer has not replaced him as yet and with the transfer window closed, the only option for the Norwegian manager is to sign a player on a bosman. In such a scenario, an experienced player like Llorente, who has won several major prizes in his career including the World Cup, would be a quality addition.

United do have pacy forwards like Martial and Rashford in the squad but they are quite similar and we need a plan B. Llorente might not be fast but he is strong, good in the air and can build up play well.

In the last campaign, the34-year-old only started 11 games in all competitions for Tottenham Hotspur and directly contributed in 13 goals (8 goals and 5 assists).

In your opinion, should United opt to sign Llorente?

  1. Silly manager!!!!!!!!
He wanted 19 yr olds, leaving such highly skilled players like Douglas Costa and Niguez for a reason no one can tell. He sells Lukaku and leaves the poorest record owner called De Gea with 54 let ins in just a season.

He goes for Maguire who is just another Jones. He buys English instead of being clever about things n buy international talent. I expect nothing but another number 5 with such a poor goal keeper as captain.

Hope I don’t give up on UNITED. My advice: Get Top mid fielders. Stop listening to Ferguson. Let De Gea and Matic go. Fill their posts with top world class players. These guys will let u down. Stop buying cause someone is English. Buy the best.

  2. I feel United should stop their race for young English talent. This is not the way to go. Not one top club would do such a thing. It is absolute suicide for a club like united to find themselves, once again, going in the wrong direction. OGS is NOT the man for the job. He hasn’t the experience and the board are not backing him. He will certainly be another scapegoat, I guarantee. It makes no difference who manages Manchester United, Pep couldn’t survive under the Glazers regime, they would make him look stupid also. When you have a board who’s only concern is Manchester United PLC and not Manchester United AFC, then not a bit of wonder that Manchester United have become a laughing stock in World Football.
