Manchester United are reportedly looking at the possibility of selling Anthony Martial as they seek to lure Gareth Bale from Real Madrid at the end of the campaign.
The Frenchman’s future has been up in the air over the past few months with United yet to show any interest in offering him with a renewed contract.
According to the Mirror, the Red Devils have been tipped to cash in on Martial during the summer with Mourinho not impressed with the Frenchman’s inconsistent performances.
It is added that the club may seek to recoup a significant sum from his sale which may enable them to revive their long-term interest in Real Madrid’s Gareth Bale.
The 22-year-old was in top notch form during the month of January as he contributed goals in three straight league games, and this earned him the club’s Player of the Month of the award for the third occasion this term.
Since then, the Frenchman has seen part of his gametime cut short by Alexis Sanchez’s arrival whilst he appears to have also been affected by United delaying talks of an improved deal.
Martial’s representative is playing a key role in trying to push through a move to Serie A with Juventus, but the supporters will hope United avoid such a situation by tying him down to a new deal at the earliest.
