Man United prepared to agree massive £23.4million-a-year terms to sign star

Griezmann World Cup

If reports in the media are anything to go by then Man United are prepared to make a mammoth move to hire the services of Antoine Griezmann.

According to an exclusive report covered by The Sun, Barcelona appeared close to luring the French international but the Red Devils are willing to break their transfer record by splashing a fee of £95million to secure his services.

The British source have revealed that Man United are even prepared to agree terms that will make the Atletico Madrid superstar earn £450,000-a-week i.e. £23.4million-a-year.

Transfer: “World class” star prepared to move to sign for Manchester United

The World Cup winning star is one of the best playmakers around. He has what it takes to amplify the quality of any squad in the world and if he ends up moving to Old Trafford then Solksjaer’s attack would get a massive boost.

Last year and in 2016, Griezmann was voted as the third best player in the world. In the recently concluded campaign, he featured in 48 games for the Rojiblancos, scored 21 goals and provided 10 assists.

The 28-year-old star has won numerous trophies in club football but he has not won a single top flight league title. Barcelona have won the last two Spanish league titles and will take part in the Champions League next season.

On the other hand, United have not won the Premier League since 2013. Last season, they finished 6th in the table and hence, they will feature in the Europa League.

So, if the Les Bleus playmaker is looking to win the league next season then moving to Barca over United seems like the better option.

If United do agree a deal worth £450,000-a-week with Griezmann then he will become the club’s record earner. At the moment, flop Alexis Sanchez is the highest earning player at Old Trafford and he gets around £350,000-a-week (Mirror Sport).
